At Life Skills Academy, our classrooms are diverse and unique due to the nature of our student body. To ensure we are the right match for your child, LSA uses a three-step admissions process. Each applicant must successfully pass all three stages before an enrollment offer is made.
Our goal is to maintain safe, effective classrooms that meet the needs of all students. To do that, we have to be selective, because every child deserves the "right fit".
You’ll begin by calling the school at (863) 800-0755 to provide intake information about your child’s diagnosis and needs.
Honesty is critical—misrepresenting your child’s support needs or behaviors may result in being screened out later.
If your child passes the intake screening, you will be invited for a required tour. Both the parent and child must attend.
Even at this stage, we may decline to move forward if we observe that the child’s needs are not compatible with our classrooms or staffing model.
In the final step, your child will participate in a 45-minute to one-hour assessment session without you in the room. You’ll remain on-site while our staff interact with your child in an academic setting, placing light demands to observe behavior, engagement, and support needs.
Note - Even if we have space in one classroom type, we may not have space in the right type of classroom based on your child’s profile.
If your child is determined to be eligible for enrollment you will be notified in writing following the assessment. If you would like to proceed, we will let you know what documents and information we need and initiate the enrollment process.
Once a child is accepted, you’ll receive an enrollment packet and a list of documents needed for the student’s cumulative file. Students may begin attending only after all required paperwork is submitted.
At that time, you’ll also receive a tuition summary showing your total cost after any Step-Up scholarship contributions and financial hardship adjustments. Your signed tuition agreement confirms your intent to enroll and accept financial responsibility.
Please note: All new enrollments begin with a two-week trial period. This allows both the school and family to ensure the placement is a good fit. If either party decides to end enrollment within the first 10 school days, all tuition—both out-of-pocket and scholarship funds—will be refunded. After that point, refunds follow our standard withdrawal policy.
