The LSA primary school maintains one classroom for students aged 7 - 11 years old who require a more supported environment. These students are still developing social, communication and independent functioning skills and require more prompting and support during the school day. As soon as students in the supportive classroom develop the ability to function in a more traditional classroom environment, they may "graduate" from this classroom to whichever classroom matches their grade-level (elementary or middle). Students who do not develop these skills by the age of 11 are usually referred to another school better able to meet their needs.
